The Rug Cleaning Process At Our Facility
Step 1: Initial Dry Cleaning & Dusting – We kick things off by beating the rug to get rid of any dirt or grit stuck in the fibers. This prevents debris from lingering and working its way into the rug’s base.
Step 2: Rug Bath – Your area rug takes a deep dive into our reliable cleaning solutions, fully submerged to tackle stains and dirt. If there are pet stains, odors, or urine issues, we apply our Pet Urine Removal Treatment (P.U.R.T.®).
Step 3: Fringe Work – We’re all about the little details. If your rug has fringe, we inspect and detail it, including any necessary fringe bleaching.
Step 4: Drying – Your area rug gets some air time in our facility, ensuring it dries securely and properly.

What is your process for cleaning area rugs?
We offer a complete area rug cleaning service. The process is washing and cleaning using the Hot Carbonated Extraction method only available from Chem-Dry. We first use our rug duster to beat the dirt and soil from the area rug. Our next step is a full rug bath and if necessary, do any fridge work (detailing, bleaching). Rugs are then hanged out to dry in our facility to ensure secure and proper drying.
Do you offer pickup and delivery?
Yes, we do! We’ll come to your home to pick up the area rug(s) you need cleaned, then deliver them back to your home as soon as we’re finished. We have a $40 fee for area rug pickup & delivery.
How long does the entire process take?
Most area rugs take 5-7 business days to be cleaned and returned.
Can you get out pet stains and smells?
Yes, we can! We are very successful when it comes to removing pet odors. We’ll soak the rug in our pet urine odor removal treatment, deep clean the rug, and then use our dehumidifier and air movers to dry the area rug.
